Airbus looks to the crowd for metaverse innovation

aircraft manufacturer Airbus and crowdsourcing market HeroX are looking to the world to find ways to use the metaverse to improve the travel experience.

The pair launched a “Metaverse and the Future of Flight” competition calling for “out-of-the-box thinkers to rethink air travel”.

Companies view digital worlds as a place to experiment and augment real-life experiences such as travel and want people to find it immersive for travelers to engage with the virtual world during the travel process.

Marc Fischer, senior vice president of cabin and cargo engineering, Airbus, says. “Metaverse is an unknown world and we would like to understand how it can improve the experience of our passengers. This challenge is a perfect start.

Kal K. Sahota, CEO of HeroX, said, “We’re on the verge of exciting breakthroughs in travel, and the HeroX solver community is the perfect group to harness innovative ideas. I can’t wait to see what the metaverse and its ingenuity can offer the everyday traveler.
