Mitra Sorrells to become PhocusWire’s new editor in chief

PhocusWire is pleased to announce the appointment of Mitra Sorrells as its new Editor-in-Chief.

She takes up her duties on May 1, 2022, following the departure of the brand’s current head of editorial team, Kevin May.

Sorrells joined as Senior Reporter in January 2018, shortly after the successful launch of PhocusWire at the Phocuswright Conference in November 2017.

A key member of the editorial team during its rapid growth phase, Sorrells oversaw the annual Hot 25 Startups project, published numerous exclusive stories, led coverage of PhocusWire’s theme months, and became a staple of its video content and on stage at the Phocuswright conference.

Sorrells has over two decades of experience as a journalist, and prior to joining PhocusWire, she was technology editor and Orlando bureau chief at BizBash, a commercial media brand for the entertainment industry. event.

May, who joined Phocuswright in July 2017 to spearhead the launch of PhocusWire later that year, is leaving to embark on a new career and academic studies in the mental health sector.
